A Gothic Romance (Red Roses For the Devil’s Whore)
Cradle of Filth again!
I really really love Cradle of Filth’s lyrics. The ‘Cruelty and the Beast’ album is a goddamn death metal opera based on the life of Elizabeth Bathory.
The song “A Gothic Romance” was one of the first CoF songs I ever downloaded - I loved how expansive and operatic it was. I loved that it told a dark, delicious fucked up love/obsession/sex/death story. Many of their songs are like that, even the ones that aren’t quite as long.
I recommend listening to the song after having read the lyrics, unless your good at picking out what Dani is saying.
Dani Filth is also the first man I ever wanted to beat up. Really. I’ve always been kinky, and almost always been a switch who leaned towards the bottom, but that dommish part of me has always been down there. It just needed the right man to bring it out.
Lately, that part’s been coming out on its own. I’ve been wanting to top someone, preferably a nice, pretty boy.
Watching this video again reminds of that time. Even now, I’d love to get my hands on Dani Filth. No toy with that boy. I’d use my hands on this one. Put all that punching, kicking and slapping I learned at Felice’s class to good use.
He’s also about my height, possibly a bit shorter, and just look how scrawny he is! I could totally manhandle him.
I can just picture it: Dragging him off stage by the hair, kicking him across the room, slamming him up against a wall by his throat, still in his fucking hot stage outfit, and then having my wicked way with him. Yummy!
There are no nice pretty boy subs. We’re all mean an old hairy guys who rarely shower and it takes a cattle prod to get us moving.

Dee - Yeah, the music is really hit or miss - I used to use it as punishment on road trips with my friends.
“You guys better shut up and calm down, or I’m putting on the Cradle, I swear to god! I’ve got Mideon, and I’m not afraid to use it!”
That, and they HATED my Zydeco, Cajun, and Country music. Its nice to torture people and have lots of fun while you do it.
But Dani, yes, he does it for quite a few of us.
