Heart Full Of Black

Anyone who follows me on twitter knows that I LOVE me some fan fiction. If I like a book, movie or TV show with some hot men, I go forth and find fic. Sometimes, the fic finds me. There are *very* few things I don’t want to read fic of. (For some reason, I dislike Black Jewel Trilogy fic, even though I love the men. Meh.)

And 90% of the time, that fic is slash. Two yummy men rolling around fucking, angsting, and having a good old time. Sometimes it a couple of girls, which is rare, and even more so is the elusive ‘het’ pairing. I read het fic and god “EW! Who would want to do tha…oh, yeah, me. But still! Ick!”

Molly Ren suggested I put up a top ten list of my favourite fics. So, I’m doing so. At the moment, its heavily skewed towards X-Men fic, which is one of my favourite fandoms. I also enjoy Harry Potter fic, and any weird fandoms I might find. Also, there are WAY more than ten. And its not all slash/x-rated stuff. Some of it is just good solid writing. I like pimping good works.

Strange Hungers

Sumary: “Logan has his appeal, and Gambit’s certainly been spending a lot of time contemplating that appeal. It’s not a half-bad idea, when he pictures it in his mind. It’s just sex, which is an activity he’s extremely fond of. Still, he can’t get away from the knowledge that it’s Penis Sex, as in they’ll each have one, instead of just him. And he’s still a little iffy on that part.”

Coments: This is one of my hands down favourite Lomy (Logan/Remy) fics EVAR. Azurine has a way with words, and there are some choice quotes in this one.
“Right now, Gambit’s reaction is to immediately reconsider his desire for Penis Sex. Or at least Penis Sex with Logan, because he’s pretty sure Logan isn’t for beginners. He’s more like the guy you work up to, after you’ve gotten the hang of things on the bunny slopes.”

Serendipity, 2, 3

Rating: PG-13? For violence. No Sex. One of the best stories I’ve ever read. I actually tear up and weep when I read this one, because I am, in fact, a bitch.
Summary: “So I had one tiny little problem with X2. One niggling question that never really let go of me through the whole movie. “Where the hell did Colossus take those kids? Were they hanging out in the woods in their pajamas for two days?” I think not. So I said to myself: “Self, there’s a story there.” And then I wrote it. And it’s slash, because I can’t seem to write anything else.”

Summary: In which Tonks is conveniently Not Dead Yet; for some reason, Remus conveniently doesn’t blush at all; Severus reveals his Animagus form, conveniently without requiring a character death warning; the Author has conveniently remembered that Severus is a Legilimens; and everyone may or may not be gay. Conveniently. Plus some sort of plot about a “cure” for lycanthropy and Hagrid helping Ron Weasley with a special present, but who cares about that part?

Dalmatia is an excellent author, a great turn of phrase…and I can see from her LJ, which I very much need to add to my LJ list, has been working on a GAMIBT/WOLVERINE fic. *dies* And it looks like I may have to comb her entire LJ over again, for some fic I missed. I was concentrating so much on FDoE that I forgot her other stuff. Also, must re-read FDoE. This is like her baby…she’s been working on this series since 2003. Damn girl. Damn. She does plot, and hotness. I’m in love.

That’s all…for now. I think I shall rec more fic in the future. Fic needs to be pimped.
